My wife and I (along with our three crazy mutts) moved to Durant Trails in January of 2018, and we’re thrilled to be here. I’m an attorney who has lived in Raleigh since I was a little kid, and I practice primarily in civil litigation with a degree of emphasis on HOA matters. When I’m not hunched over my desk at work, however, you can typically find me doing something outside. My wife and I are both avid musicians, and we also enjoy traveling, camping, concerts, and sporting events. I’m very excited to be a part of the Durant Trails community, and I look forward to getting to know all of our neighbors!
Vice President & co-chair of Activities:
I have lived in Durant Trails for a little over 10 years. I currently am a preschool teacher, a mama to two sweet girls and a silly dog, and a wife to a wonderful husband! I became a member of this board 9 years ago. I started out doing strictly events in the neighborhood and have added things as the years have gone on but the events are where my heart lies. I love creating fun experiences for my neighbors and watching the children really enjoy being a part of this community. This truly is one of the best places to live in Raleigh!
Treasurer & Communications:
My wife and I moved to DT with our two dogs in May of 2017. I joined the Board late the following year so that I could meet more of my neighbors and help out wherever I can. For work I am an attorney in the NC Department of Justice, where I represent the NC Department of Health and Human Services. Like David, whenever I am not working I tend to be doing something outside, whether it is camping, hiking, golfing, fishing, or hunting. In addition to being the Board's treasurer, I manage the neighborhood website and assist with communications between the Board and DT homeowners.
Secretary & Community Watch and Safety:
I retired to Durant Trails in 2009 after many years in law enforcement and security in the Northern Virginia area. I have served on the Board of Directors since 2016. I am responsible for Community Watch & Safety concerns.
After 40 plus years, I retired from the U.S Postal Service. Now I spend my time raising a teenage daughter, keeping my husband busy, being active at church, and serving as member of the Durant Trails Board of Directors. My position is Chairperson of the Architectural Review Committee (ARC). I've been on the Board and on the ARC since my husband and I moved into Durant Trails in 1999. About 10 of those years, I served as Board president. The ARC reviews all exterior change requests and makes sure the guidelines are followed. Our goal is to keep the Durant Trails community one of the best places to live in Raleigh.
I've lived in Durant Trails with my husband since 1986. Both of our children swam on the Durant Trails swim team from age 5 through high school. Durant Trails is a great place to raise a family! I recently retired from the NC Department of Revenue after 35 years as a mainframe programmer. Now I spend most of my time writing. I'm happy to serve on the board for a neighborhood that has been such a big part of my family's life.
